China: AI, robotics drive demand for printed circuit boards in China
Storyline AI, robotics drive demand for printed circuit boards in China [Voice_over] Rapid advancments in China’s AI and robotics sectors are fueling massive demand for printed circuit boards, the central nervous system of modern smart devices. In cities like Shenzhen, the booming market for AI-powered consumer gadgets like interactive toys is creating a parallel surge in orders for PCBs. Another key driver of demand for the critical technology are industrial robot makers. [Sound_bite] Bian Xu, CTO, robot manufacturer: "On average, each of our robots uses three to five PCBs. What's key is that our entire robot series shares a universal design for its electronic control systems and PCB modules. This means our PCBs are highly standardized, and our volume requirements are massive." [Voice_over] And beyond higher volumes, robot manufacturers are also demanding circuit boards with higher-performance. [Sound_bite] Guan Jian, vice president, robot manufacturer: "The robotics sector is increasingly integrating with chip design houses, elevating demand for premium PCBs. For robot makers, PCBs serve as an 'intelligent skeleton,' and the need for them is rising dramatically in both volume and technological sophistication." [Voice_over] According to projections by electronics industry consulting firm Prismark, the global PCB market will have expanded from about 73 billion U.S. dollars last year to about 95 billion by 2029, with an annual growth rate of more than five percent.
