A driver captured a gruelling traffic jam that left vehicles inching along a narrow rural road in the Philippines.

Jessa Loquinario and her colleagues were travelling along Govic Highway in Castillejos, Zambales, when they encountered heavy congestion.

Dashcam footage shows a long queue of tricycles, lorries, cars, and motorcycles waiting to move forward on the opposite lane on July 7.

Illegally parked vehicles had also worsened the struggle for drivers and commuters trying to manoeuvre along the busy road.

In the Philippines, illegally parked vehicles on roadsides or non-designated areas carry fines ranging from a few hundred pesos in provincial towns to as much as 2,000 PHP (approximately 26 GBP) in Metro Manila, with possible towing and impounding for obstructing traffic.
