Resident delighted when rare tropical bird visits his window ledge
A resident was delighted when a rare tropical bird visited him and perched on his window ledge.
Lord Prince Taray noticed the Philippine Black-naped Oriole whistling in front of him on Panglao Island in Bohol, the Philippines.
Footage shows the yellow bird whistling while lounging on the windowsill as the man watches on January 12.
Prince said: 'Having birds as visitors to your home, symbolically, can be seen as a positive omen, a reminder of hope, or a sign of divine messages or blessings.'
The Philippine Black-naped Oriole is a striking, bright yellow bird with a black eye-stripe and nape, known for its melodious whistles and presence in gardens, parks, and forests across the country. These medium-sized orioles feed on fruits and insects and play a role in seed dispersal.
They are common but sometimes targeted by poachers for the pet trade, making seeing them in the wild a special treat.
