Venezuela earthquake shakes home as resident relaxes in front of TV
A powerful earthquake shook a home as a resident relaxed in front of the television in Venezuela.
Footage shows the appliance swaying when a magnitude 6.2 tremor struck Maracaibo, Zulia, on September 24 at 6:22 pm local time.
Local media reported that the quake caused property damage to homes, prompting people to gather in open spaces to avoid being struck by falling debris.
Authorities urged citizens to remain calm, inspect their homes for damage, and stay alert for possible aftershocks.
The earthquake was also felt in Colombian cities, including Cucuta, Bucaramanga, and Medellin.
No deaths or injuries have been confirmed so far, though power outages and cracks in buildings have been reported.
The epicentre was located 4 km North East of the Mene Grande region of Venezuela, at a depth of 7.8 km.
