MEN WALKING, ONE CARRYING DEAD CHILD IN BURIAL SHROUD GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - OCTOBER 1: Palestinians in Gaza City on Wednesday, Oct. 1, held funerals for 16 victims killed in Israeli airstrikes that targeted several locations across the city, according to local sources. The strikes hit a school sheltering displaced families and other residential areas, resulting in numerous civilian casualties. Seven of the victims were killed inside the Al-Falah school in the Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City, which was being used as a shelter for displaced persons. Israeli raids also struck other residential districts, leading to additional civilian deaths and injuries. The bodies were transported to the Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital before the communal funeral processions, which were held amid widespread grief and mourning. The Gaza Health Ministry reported on Thursday that the Palestinian death toll has reached 66,097, with 168,536 injured since the conflict began. Furthermore, a severe humanitarian crisis continues to unfold, with local health officials reporting that at least 453 people, including 150 children, have died due to famine and deteriorating living conditions.
