Police this morning continued to guard the home of the alleged Manchester synagogue terrorist as both he and his victims were named

Greater Manchester Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Jihad Al-Shamie, a British citizen of Syrian descent.

Two men killed at the synagogue were named as Adrian Daulby, 53, and 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz.

This morning one police car and three police officers could be seen guarding the semi-detached house on Langley Crescent, in Prestwich.

The cordon is 40 foot covering the driveway and extending onto a pathway in front of the property.

No forensics have been spotted on the scene.

At 4 pm yesterday (thurs) armed police swooped on the residential street just over two miles away from the terror attack at the synagogue today.

Earlier yesterday counter terrorist police were also at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester.

Footage from the street shows a huge police presence, including armed police and a Counter Terrorist Specialist Firearms Officer.

One resident said: "A police pulled up and a vehicle with armed police with body armour and helmets."

"Two police officers shut the road on Langley Avenue."

"All the neighbours were out in their gardens. It is such a nice area, really quiet area and the neighbours were worried. It is not something you expect to see."

"It lasted 20 minutes, there were two plain-clothed police officers. "

Another resident who lives close to where the police are, said: "I have lived here for over two years and have never seen anything like this. It is not what you expect."

"We don't know what has happened but after the shocking events at the synagogue, you can't but help think could it be linked, surely it is too much coincidence."
