On the night of October 2, 2025, a massive fire erupted at the Chevron refinery in El Segundo, just south of LAX. Footage shared on X by user Ceejaee shows flames shooting high from multiple storage tanks and pipe structures within the industrial site.

The video, filmed from ground level outside a chain-link fence along a quiet street, captures intense orange and yellow flames lighting up the dark sky. Thick black smoke billows rapidly, spreading across the area and illuminated by nearby streetlights. Power lines and poles frame one side of the scene, with distant trees visible on the other.

The handheld footage opens with a wide shot of the blaze growing in intensity, then pans and zooms as secondary flares erupt, creating a chaotic and roaring inferno against the refinery’s industrial skyline.

No people, vehicles, or emergency responders appear in the footage, emphasizing the immediate and raw nature of the fire.
