US: Physical Domestic Assault Suspect Escapes Police After 145 MPH Chase
Chehalis, United States - October 08, 2025 On September 8th, Chehalis Tribal Police witnessed a violent domestic assault near the local casino, where a male suspect slammed a female victim to the ground before fleeing in a car. The victim was unable to exit the vehicle. Authorities immediately initiated a pursuit, but the suspect initially escaped. A county unit resumed the chase northbound on I-5, only to lose the vehicle again amid heavy traffic. A passing driver, en route to Tacoma for a first responder wellness forum, observed the suspect vehicle and joined the pursuit, reaching speeds up to 145 mph. Requests for air support were made, but none were available in Western Washington. Concerns for the safety of the female victim led the driver to terminate the pursuit near Exit 128. The suspect and victim have not been located, and the victim’s current status remains unknown. Law enforcement believes the suspect may be a prominent career criminal, a convicted felon with multiple outstanding warrants along the I-5 corridor. He was driving on a revoked license in the first degree, reserved for the most dangerous criminal drivers. “This call represents the challenges that law enforcement face when determining when to pursue and when to terminate,” said a responding officer. “While I’m still fearful for the victim’s safety, continuing the chase risked a high-speed crash, which was likely the only way the suspect would stop. Deputies and officers did a good job mitigating risk in a volatile situation.” Chehalis Tribal Police continue to investigate the incident.
