Seville, Spain - October 30, 2025 The National Police deployed reinforced operational teams after heavy rains caused severe flooding across the city. Agents responded to a call to Sala CIMACC 091 about an elderly woman trapped in her home. They reached the dwelling amid difficult conditions and found her with water up to her waist, remaining with her until a relative arrived. On Calle Aragón rising waters flooded a nursery school. Officers helped evacuate all babies to an adjacent building with the aid of neighbours, removing them from immediate danger. The same street saw multiple welfare rescues for older people and those with reduced mobility. One man in a wheelchair was moved to the fourth floor of his building for safety. Officers provided first aid to an 84-year-old woman with an open leg fracture and heavy bleeding, stabilizing her until medical teams could arrive. They then assisted in moving her to an ambulance and escorted the vehicle to Hospital Virgen del Rocío because of the severity of her injuries and difficult road conditions. With roadways more than a metre deep in places, officers checked parked vehicles to ensure no one was trapped and secured scenes until firefighters arrived. Authorities handled 98.4% of incoming calls, including transfers from 112, despite a huge volume of requests concentrated between 13:00 and 17:30. The police said the response demonstrated strong resource management and a high level of humanitarian assistance.
