MYKOLAIV, UKRAINE (NOV. 1, 2025) (USERS MUST CREDIT: "STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE OF UKRAINE” HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO — EDITORIAL USE ONLY) At least one person was killed and 15 others were injured in a Russian missile strike on the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv early Saturday, Nov. 1, according to Ukrainian officials.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) reported that rescue teams responded to the incident to mitigate the risks of fire and chemical leaks following the attack.
“Work was carried out to wash away the spilled fuel using water and air-mechanical foam to prevent ignition. Chemical specialists and pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service were involved in the efforts,” the DSNS said in a statement.
Medical teams and volunteers from the Red Cross were also on site, providing first aid to the injured victims.
Vitaliy Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, had earlier reported during an air raid alert that the city was under attack by ballistic missiles.
