Phoenix, United States - November 02, 2025 11/02/2025 04:40 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Police Department officers and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to the intersection of 7th Avenue and Thomas Road for reports of a multi-vehicle collision. Officers and firefighters arrived to find a collision involving two sedans and a Nissan SUV. One of the involved sedans was overturned, and the involved SUV was on fire. The third sedan sustained minor damage. One unidentified occupant was found trapped inside the overturned sedan. Crews quickly extinguished the burning SUV while additional crews utilized extrication equipment to access the trapped occupant inside the overturned sedan. According to the Phoenix police lieutenant at the scene, an adult male and an adult female were transported to a local trauma center in critical condition. The occupant in the overturned sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene and has yet to be identified. Phoenix Police Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives are assuming command of the traffic fatality investigation. A hard closure was established for the intersection. The closure was expected to remain in place for several hours while detectives investigate the collision.
