Six people have been killed after a passenger train collided with a freight train in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, on November 4.

Bilaspur Collector Sanjay Agarwal confirmed that seven people were killed, two were trapped inside the carriage, and 15-20 others were injured, including children.

The accident occurred near the Lal Khand area of ​​the Gataura station. Railway and local administration teams are present at the scene. Rescue teams have so far safely evacuated several passengers from the passenger train carriage. The passenger train carriage is being cut open with a gas cutter. It is reported that women and children are trapped in this same carriage and will be rescued.

Train operations on the Korba to Bilaspur route have been halted. Several trains, including the Azad Hind Express, Hirakud Express, Bilaspur-Tata Express, and Amarkantak Express, are running 4-5 hours late.
