Dyeing factory caught in fierce inferno, thick smoke rises from building roof, emergency responders work tirelessly to control fire
A major fire erupted in a dyeing factory with thick black smoke and fierce flames rising from the roof. Firefighters are engaged in large-scale efforts to control the blaze as emergency operations continue on a war footing.
The incident took place at Khatri Dyeing Company, in the Saravali MIDC area of Bhiwandi district, in northern India’s Maharashtra, on November 7.
Visuals show that thick black smoke and fierce flames were seen bursting from the roof of a building suspected to be a dyeing factory. Firefighting teams rushed to the spot and began efforts to bring the rapidly spreading blaze under control.
Speaking to Newslions, Rajesh Pandharinath Pawar, Chief Fire Officer, Bhiwandi Fire Brigade Department, Maharashtra, stated that the major fire erupted on Friday morning at Mangal Murti Neat Dyeing Company, a textile processing unit in the Saravali MIDC area of Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. The blaze reportedly began around 9:15 a.m., quickly spreading through the premises and triggering panic in the area. The blaze at Khatri Dyeing in Saravali MIDC has been brought under control, and cooling efforts are still continuing.
On receiving the alert, multiple fire tenders from Bhiwandi, Kalyan-Dombivali, and Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporations were dispatched to the spot. Firefighters are working relentlessly to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures. So far, no casualties have been reported, and officials are investigating the cause of the incident.
