SIGHNAGHI, GEORGIA - NOVEMBER 12, 2025: Georgia’s Interior Minister Geka Geladze said an international investigative team has been formed to probe the crash of a Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) C‑130 military cargo plane, with Turkish officials participating.
"The investigation is being conducted in coordination with Türkiye," Geladze told reporters at the crash site in the Sighnaghi municipality near the Georgia–Azerbaijan border.
The plane, carrying 20 military personnel including the flight crew, crashed Tuesday after taking off from Azerbaijan en route to Türkiye. Geladze expressed his condolences to the families of those who died and said search and rescue operations are continuing.
He added that the wreckage is scattered over a wide area and that the Georgian Armed Forces are assisting in the recovery effort. Georgia’s Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani also visited the site.
Türkiye’s National Defense Ministry confirmed that all 20 personnel on board were killed and said an investigation into the crash is underway.
