A Malayan night heron was seen strolling across hanging lights inside an IKEA store.

Tina Lin and other shoppers noticed the bird wandering in the ceiling gap as it perched on the fluorescent lights at the Swedish furniture shop in Taipei, Taiwan.

Moments later, the feathered visitor can be seen pacing across the slabs and walls on November 10.

The Malayan night heron is a medium-sized, nocturnal bird found in Southeast Asia, known for its secretive behaviour and habit of foraging in wetlands and forested areas.

Tina speculated that the heron may have entered the store seeking shelter from Typhoon Fung-Wong.
