This is the amusing moment a thirsty dog had a sneaky drink of water from a beachgoer's cup.

The holidaymaker spotted the parched black pooch lapping cold, refreshing water from the plastic cup while sheltering from the heat under an umbrella on a beach in Shandong, China.

Onlookers stood inches away from the canine as they watched it quench its thirst, allowing it to finish before returning to their sun-loungers so as not to startle the animal or make it run away on December 28.

The filmer said: 'It was so hot at the time that we didn't want to shoo the stray dog away. Instead, we just let him be. It felt like the right thing to do.

'Once he was finished, we disposed of the cup so that nobody else would accidentally use it.'
