Sutjeska, Serbia - November 12, 2025 Fishponds occupy a special place in the inland water system, because they are more influenced by man than any other type of inland water. Carps are grown in warm water ponds, 1-2m deep. In order to be economically justified, carp ponds should have an area of ​​at least 0.30 ha. According to our climatic conditions, they are located in lowland areas at an altitude of up to 500 m. Stocking is done with carp fry of an average weight of 100 g/piece, and 15,000 pieces of fry per hectare. Carp for consumption are grown up to 1 kg per piece, and a loss of 0.02% is included in the total increase. Nutritionists advise to include fish on our menu at least once a week, and recent research has shown that people who regularly consume fish have a 50% lower risk of heart attack.
