Los Angeles, United States - November 14, 2025 11/14/2025 09:00 am GMT-0800 ALTADENA, Calif. – Los Angeles is expected to see increasing clouds and periods of light rain late Friday into early Saturday as a slow-moving Pacific storm system approaches the coast. Meteorologists say the disturbance, tied to a southern-stream closed low spinning just offshore, will draw a band of showers toward the region overnight. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center notes that while overall instability remains very weak, a few low-topped thunderstorms may develop as the frontal band pushes inland. Any lightning activity is expected to be isolated and brief, with the best chances near the coast and over the ocean. Winds will gradually strengthen with height, producing gusty conditions over higher terrain, but forecasters emphasize that the setup lacks the ingredients for severe thunderstorms. Included in the KNN footage are scenes from the Rubio Debris Basin, which was filled with mud, dirt, rocks and other debris.
