Monmouth town was severely flooded by Storm Claudia on the night of 14th to 15th November 2025 when the River Monnow broke its banks causing catastrophic flooding and devastating damage to businesses and homes. This lady lived in a flat in Monnow Street and was marooned with no electricity or heating. This video captures the tense moments when she had been rescued by the Fire and Rescue Service from the filthy floodwaters in a rubber dinghy to a point of safety and passed on to the ambulance services for medical attention.
