3. VARIOUS OF SESSION OF CONFIDENCE VOTE FOR GOVERNMENT PRISTINE, KOSOVO - NOVEMBER 19: Following the parliamentary elections held in Kosovo on February 9, the new government proposed by Glauk Konjufca, the prime ministerial candidate of the Self-Determination Movement (Vetevendosje), which came first in the election, failed to secure enough votes in the confidence vote in Parliament, leading to expectations that the country will hold early general elections.

The Kosovo Parliamentary Assembly convened to vote on the new government.

In his speech from the Assembly podium, Glauk Konjufca, the prime ministerial candidate of Vetevendosje, said that 2025 would be remembered as a year wasted trying to establish the country's institutions.

During his speech, Konjufca also announced the names of the ministers he planned to work with and asked for the support of the deputies.

In the confidence vote held in the 120-seat Assembly, 56 MPs voted “yes,” 53 voted “no,” and 4 abstained. Thus, the government led by Konjufca failed to reach the 61 votes needed to win the confidence vote.

In statements made by other party representatives after the session, President Vjosa Osmani was asked to announce the date of early general elections as soon as possible.

After the government proposed by Albin Kurti, leader of the election-winning Vetevendosje party, failed to win a vote of confidence in parliament on October 26, President Osmani gave the mandate to form a government to Glauk Konjufca from the same party.

Osmani had stated that if the government failed to be formed on the second attempt, the date for early general elections would be announced.
