"We came by plane from Mugla. We also took a flight with Gofret. We have made many plane trips. We went abroad before, we had a trip to Europe, we went to France with Gofret. We said, ‘Let’s visit some historical places in Istanbul.’ We came to visit Istanbul's beautiful places — Uskudar, Eminonu, Sirkeci… We are strolling around there. We are discovering nice places together. It’s fun. Here in Taksim Square, people also showed a lot of interest. Tourists came and petted Gofret. They took photos with it. They wanted to record videos together."

6. GOFRET IN BABY CARRIER ON OWNER'S CHEST (TWO SHOTS) ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE - NOV. 20, 2025: A cat named “Gofret,” known for riding through the streets on a motorcycle strapped to its owner’s chest while wearing a tiny helmet, has taken its travels to Istanbul.

The cat previously appeared on social media in costumes ranging from police and bridal outfits to a bright yellow bee suit.

Adopted at two months old by Hatem Topcu, Gofret was introduced to outdoor life early on and gradually became accustomed to the sound of the motorcycle.

What began as brief outings has since become a daily ritual, drawing amused reactions from onlookers who often mistake the cat for a toy before realizing it’s real.

Topcu said they flew from western Mugla province to Istanbul with Gofret, noting that the cat is already familiar with air travel after previous domestic and international trips, including a visit to France.

He added that they set out to explore Istanbul’s historic districts — from Uskudar and Eminonu to Sirkeci and Taksim — where Gofret quickly drew the attention of crowds. Tourists stopped to pet the cat, take photos, and record videos as the pair toured the city.

Riding at the front of the motorcycle with its fur swept by the wind, Gofret enjoyed the city’s historic scenery and even fed seagulls during a ferry trip across the Bosphorus with its owner.
