Kilauea, United States - November 01, 2025 Kilauea Summit – A new USGS timelapse video compilation captures Kilauea summit eruption episodes 34, 35, and 36 from two separate cameras, one positioned closer to the vent and another farther away. Episodes 34, 35, and 36 occurred on October 1, October 17–18, and November 9, respectively. Both the north and south vents are seen erupting during all three events. The camera set near the vent was hit by the extreme heat during the intense fountaining of episode 35, leaving its images slightly blurred. Before episode 36, that camera was replaced and moved farther back to a safer position. The footage shows the most powerful lava displays of the eruption so far. During episode 35, the fountains reached an estimated height of about 1,475 feet, or roughly 450 meters, marking the tallest activity recorded in this eruption to date.
