A female accomplice was caught on camera handing a gun to a prisoner to stage a daring jailbreak in Cambodia.

The Vietnamese inmate was being escorted from a transport truck at the front of the Svay Rieng Provincial Court when an attractive woman waiting nearby slipped a firearm into his hand on November 18.

Footage shows how she positioned herself near the back of the vehicle before stepping forward and quickly passing the weapon to him while the guards focused on the other prisoners.

He fired at the officers who scrambled for cover as the six inmates wearing orange uniforms fled the compound.

General Department of Prisons spokesperson Kheang Sonadin said: ‘The six defendants were charged with drug crimes, illegal possession of weapons and confinement. They then made an escape.'

The group of six prisoners sprinted toward the gate together, with the gunman and the woman seen hand in hand.

Guards chased them outside but the Vietnamese inmates had already escaped in a waiting car.

A police pursuit reportedly lasted for almost two hours before the getaway vehicle plunged into a ditch.

All five fugitives were reportedly captured along with the female accomplice. She is seen in a video being shown to the camera as leering cops say 'she's pretty' and 'lets take her to the cell'.

Svay Rieng Provincial Police Deputy Chief Colonel Kem Vannareth said: ‘I would like to confirm that the six prisoners who stormed into the Svay Rieng Provincial Court compound on Tuesday morning have now been recaptured by our police officers.'

The woman was also remanded in custody, charged with possession of a firearm and aiding the prison break.
