This is the shocking moment students threw punches at each other during an Artificial Intelligence masterclass at a stadium in Brazil.

The event, which hosted around 30,000 students from the state education network at Mineirao Stadium in Pampulha, Belo Horizonte, was temporarily halted on Wednesday morning when a fight erupted among learners in the stands.

Governor Romeu Zema and Vice Governor Mateus Simoes reportedly attended the activity.

Footage shows students in uniform exchanging jabs while some attempted to intervene.

The class, originally scheduled to start at 10 am, was delayed by the incident and resumed at 11:30 am.

Organised by the Government of Minas Gerais and run by the State Secretariat of Education in partnership with Google, the event combined theory with practical demonstrations of machine learning and AI tools.

Authorities said they condemned the violence, adding that an internal investigation will be launched to determine the cause and those responsible.

The government had hoped to set a Guinness World Record for the largest in-person AI class.
