Mice spotted scurrying around Gordon Ramsay restaurant
This shocking video shows the moment a holidaymaker caught a mouse scurrying along the floor of a Gordon Ramsay restaurant.
The footage was filmed at the celebrity chef's Plane Food diner in Heathrow Airport Terminal Five by a holidaymaker.
Alessandro Mele, from Eastbourne in East Sussex, said he saw 'at least three' rodents loose while waiting for his 10pm flight on November 4.
Mr Mele, 54, said: "Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something and I thought it was just me. "
"But the third time I turned around and I saw a mouse going the whole way round to another table."
"I got up and shouted 'oh my God it's a mouse' and other diners saw it as well."
"When I told the waitress, she looked at me and said 'oh yes'. My wife, Zoe, and I were absolutely stunned."
The venue, which has a rating of 4.1 stars on TripAdvisor, is described as a 'stylish restaurant and bar with superior dining and airport views, plus picnics to take on board'.
Mr Mele, who was travelling to Argentina and Brazil and left his half-eaten burger, said he caught another mouse on video but the manager was unconcerned.
He said: "The manager said he was aware of it, that it was 'nothing major' and someone comes in at night to check."
"I was shocked. It's not good enough, it's a restaurant."
"Gordon Ramsay has programmes of shutting down restaurants because of how dirty they are. "
"They said I didn't have to pay for my meal but it's not about that. I couldn't believe it. I saw at least three mice."
"Our worry was we were about to go on a trip of a lifetime, and what if we'd fallen ill?"
Mr Mele said he raised his concerns with management via email and was told it would be looked into.
The Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Group was contacted for comment.
