GUILIN, CHINA - NOV. 17: China’s Ruyi Peak in Guilin has become one of the most striking examples of extreme tourism, featuring transparent glass bridges and elevated walkways stretching hundreds of meters above mountain valleys.

Built in a region recognized by UNESCO for its unique karst formations, the structures attract millions of visitors each year.

Modern glass and steel bridges constructed atop the ancient limestone peaks offer visitors walkways that create an immersive sense of height amid the area’s dramatic natural landscape.

Guilin is well-known for its unique mountains and beautiful rivers, according to UNESCO.

"There are about 157 rock hills, 21 major karst caves and several hundred smaller ones. Among the solitary hills and protruding rocks of Guilin, flows the tranquil Lijiang River and its tributaries, which produce most spectacular sight," it says.
