Kitten runs while being approached by a curious guinea pig
This is the amusing moment a kitten was seen running while being approached by a curious guinea pig.
Kate Brakenhoff watched her adopted tabby, Tommy, backing away from Big Al during the pair's first encounter in Columbus, Nebraska.
Footage shows the four-month-old feline scampering from the tricoloured cavy.
Big Al even cornered the kitten at one point, but the agile cat managed to sprint away while their pet owner giggled at the entertaining sight.
In another clip, years later, the now-grown Tommy can be seen inside a cage, eating hay alongside Big Al.
Kate recalled that they adopted Big Al in 2021 from the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska.
She said: 'We adopted him just to add another fun furry friend to our gang of two dogs and one senior cat. Big Al enjoyed being around the dogs.
'He was never fearful, and they all mingled quite well. He had his own room where he roamed, ate fresh veggies and hay every day, living the life he deserved or once knew before he was surrendered to the shelter.'
Last year, in September, Kate found Tommy outside her home under a bush after a hailstorm and decided to adopt the animal.
She added that Big Al and Tommy shared a room together afterwards.
'Tommy is very docile and gentle, never once showing any aggression towards Big Al. They just bonded so well. Tommy loved hanging out with Big Al in his room. I believe he thought no differently of Big Al; they were just buddies.'
This August, Big Al was said to have shown signs of old age, and, with the assistance of the family's vet, they helped Big Al pass away at the age of six years old.
