This is the amusing moment a stray cat followed a resident to her home in China.

The woman was heading home when the tabby feline approached her in the stairwell of an apartment complex in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.

Footage shows the affectionate kitten circling around the homeowner before climbing the steps beside her as they walked toward her apartment.

She can be heard saying to the cat: 'Are you sure you want to come home with me? My cats might bully you.'

When they reached her door, she unlocked it, revealing a clowder of cats waiting in the entryway.

Upon seeing this, the tabby froze in visible disbelief before backing away from the door.

The pet lover then told the stray that it was welcome to stay if it wished to live with them.

The filmer said: 'There were many strays that had found their way into my home over the years, and I never hesitated to let them stay.'
