Sanford, United States - December 02, 2025 Early in the morning on 2nd December, Sanford Police Officers responded to a significant house fire alongside the Sanford Fire Department and Seminole County Fire Department. All adults and children were safely evacuated from the burning home. After learning that the family dog was still inside, Officer Pagan went into the burning home and located the dog, which appeared lifeless from smoke inhalation. He quickly pulled the dog and its kennel out of the house, and Officer Diaz helped move the kennel to a safe area where Officer Pagan continued providing aid. Officer Pagan then committed to saving the dog’s life, working to cool, oxygenate and revive the motionless husky. After about 30 minutes of treatment, the dog began holding its head up on its own, giving the family relief as they realized their pet was going to survive. As Officer Pagan said, “Dogs are family,” and the department agreed, thanking him for saving this beloved family member. The statement also thanked the firefighters and additional officers who responded to the intense fire, ensuring that no lives were lost and that further fire damage was prevented as quickly as possible.
