In a harrowing incident captured on video, a police officer in Mansfield, Texas, successfully saved the life of a choking woman by swiftly performing the Heimlich manoeuvre. The heroic act occurred on January 13th when Officer Chad Stevens came to the aid of a distressed woman identified only as Samantha on Interstate Highway 20.

Officer Stevens, while traveling eastbound near Anglin Road, noticed a white vehicle driving in the left lane with its hazard lights on, indicating a potential emergency. Instinctively responding to the situation, he immediately activated his emergency lights and pulled up behind the vehicle.

As he brought his own vehicle to a halt, Officer Stevens witnessed Samantha, the driver, stepping out of her car with visible signs of distress. She held her neck and exhibited choking-like coughing, indicating an obstruction in her airway.

Without hesitation, Officer Stevens sprang into action, implementing the Heimlich manoeuvre to dislodge the blockage that had been obstructing Samantha's airway. With a swift and effective exertion, he successfully eliminated the obstruction, identified as a piece of gum.

Samantha revealed that her struggle to breathe was triggered by another vehicle entering her lane suddenly, causing her to take in a sudden breath. For several agonizing minutes, she found it increasingly difficult to breathe until Officer Stevens arrived to provide life-saving assistance.
