Indianapolis, United States - December 07, 2025 A building on the near east side burst into flames on Sunday morning, prompting a major response from firefighters. According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, approximately 80 firefighters were dispatched around 8:39 a.m. to the structure at 2130 Yandes St. IFD reported that a wall collapsed at 8:53 a.m. Crews initially faced challenges extinguishing the fire because they could not sustain adequate water pressure, as water was flowing to multiple mains. Indianapolis Fire Department and Citizens Energy made adjustments that increased the pressure to meet demand. With those changes, firefighters were able to control the blaze and eventually put it out. Neighbors told crews the building was constructed in 1910 and once served as an important landmark for the automotive industry. They said it has been abandoned for more than 20 years and has been broken into repeatedly. Building owners said they heard there was a RAVE party inside until about 4 a.m. Sunday, with an estimated 50 to 100 people attending, but no one contacted IMPD. No injuries were reported. IFD said it took three hours and 20 minutes to gain control of the fire. The blaze was officially declared out at 11:59 a.m.
