Ravenous hamster tries to stuff oversized snack into its cheeks
This is the shocking moment a ravenous hamster attempted to stuff its oversized snack into its cheeks.
Footage shows the pet rodent trying to swallow a pickle nearly bigger than its body in Sichuan, China.
The creature can be seen pushing the food deeper into its cheek pouches.
Worried that the hamster might hurt itself, the concerned pet owner quickly pulled the pickle out.
However, the animal continued to eat it eagerly and shove the snack into its bulging cheeks.
Experts said that hamsters are naturally driven by the instinct to gather and store food, a behaviour known as hoarding. This act is critical for their survival in their native arid habitats.
