Man spends $25k on festive display complete with car covered in 3,600 lights
A man has spent more than $25K (AUS) over two decades transforming his home into a Christmas wonderland.
Brian Carr, 45, started decorating on September 1 and took about two and a half months to complete.
While Brian handled most of the work himself, neighbours pitched in to help with larger elements, such as the giant Santa hat.
The result is a magical spectacle featuring over 100,000 lights, including a specially decorated car adorned with 3,600 twinkling bulbs.
Brian has been decorating for 21 years - 13 at his current property - and every year the display grows bigger and brighter.
Each year, Brian and his neighbours choose a charity to support, and this year's chosen cause is aeromedical charity CareFlight.
Over the years, he estimates he has spent roughly $25k AUS (£12k)on lights, materials and installations.
This year alone, the display cost around $2,000 to set up.
Despite challenges from windy weather, Brian says the community's reaction makes it all worthwhile.
Brian, from Mount Annan, Sydney, Australia, said: "Every year a different neighbour picks a charity to raise money for."
"Neighbours, friends, and people passing by love the display."
"Christmas is the best time of year. It brings everyone together!"
