This is the shocking moment rainwater pours from a shopping mall ceiling as heavy rain hits Malaysia.

Footage captured by a shopper shows water streaming from a damaged section of the ceiling at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur on December 12, around 4:30 pm.

A mallgoer said: 'You market yourself as a high-end, luxury mall, but this is what you deliver? Poor maintenance, and this isn't even the first time it's happened.

'Tenants pay extremely high rent here, and this is what they get? It's very sad to see a mall that isn't even five years old already falling apart. It's embarrassing.'

Local reports said the leakage was caused by drainage and roofing systems being overwhelmed by the heavy rainfall.

Last month, a separate water leak was also reported at the same mall, with management saying it was caused by a pipe issue.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting several parts of the region.
