The Secretary-General of the China Hydrogen Alliance, Wan Yanming, broke down the numbers during a recent interview and said beyond capacity, China's investments into clean hydrogen projects account for 30 percent of the global total. [Sound_bite] Wan Yanming, Secretary-General, China Hydrogen Alliance: "China's annual green hydrogen production capacity now exceeds 220,000 tonnes, accounting for more than 50 percent of the global total. We have built 540 hydrogen refueling stations, representing 40 percent of the world's total." [Voice_over] One major example of the country's growing clean hydrogen capacity is the Ningdong Renewable Hydrogen and Carbon Reduction Demonstration Zone in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, which has produced nearly 11 million standard cubic meters of green hydrogen. Over the next five years, China aims to reach 100 gigawatts of installed capacity for renewable hydrogen production as part of its larger goal of peaking CO2 emissions by 2030.
