BETHLEHEM, PALESTINE - DECEMBER 16, 2025: Hundreds of Palestinians on Tuesday attended the funeral of Ammar Yasser Sabah, a 17-year-old who was killed during an Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank.

Sabah was laid to rest in the town of Tuqu, south of Bethlehem, where mourners carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans condemning Israeli actions.

According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, the teenager was shot in the chest by Israeli forces during a raid late on Monday. He was taken to hospital, where he later died of his wounds.

WAFA cited Taysir Abu Mufreh, head of the Tuqu Municipal Council, as saying Israeli forces stormed the town, took up positions in its center, and opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in the teenager’s death.

Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed at least 1,096 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, injured nearly 11,000, and detained around 21,000 since the start of Gaza genocide in October 2023, according to Palestinian figures.

In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
