4. NIGHT SHOTS OF PEOPLE WALKING WITH TORCHES KARS, TURKIYE - DECEMBER 17: The ski season has officially begun at the Sar Ski Center in Kars’ Sarıkamış district, one of Türkiye’s key winter tourism destinations known for its pine forests, “crystal” snow and long ski runs.

Officials said snow depth at the resort has reached 70 centimeters, helping kick off the season as the center prepares to welcome large numbers of domestic and international visitors, as it does each year.

To mark the opening, the ski center will offer free services for three days. Skiers and snowboarders arriving for the start of the season spent the day on the slopes, taking advantage of the fresh conditions.

With temperatures measured at minus 15 degrees Celsius, ski instructors also staged a torchlit skiing display, adding a festive highlight to the opening-day program.
