Storyline Drones facilitate routine check of PV system in China [Voice_over] A new team of inspectors is about to check some 8 million square meters of solar panels at the Yuding photovoltaic power station in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Unlike the previous team of five people who took a week to conduct the check, the new team of two will finish the job in about half a day. That's because the team is made up of drones. With pre-set flight routes, and special infrared thermal imagining, the AI powered drone inspectors can capture millimeter-level cracks and see hidden problems faster and more accurately than human workers. Within 10 minutes of a finished inspection, the system generates a detailed report with coordinates of any problem areas. As of the end of June this year, China's national installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation had reached approximately 1.1 billion kilowatts. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
