Deer chews on students' test papers after wandering into classroom
This is the amusing moment a deer was caught munching on students' test papers after wandering into a classroom.
Footage shows the curious hoofed creature chewing on the exam documents, mistaking them for food, inside the empty room in Sichuan, China, on November 3.
Local media reported that the deer is one of several tame animals kept by the school as mascots.
Students said the deer often roamed freely around campus and occasionally entered classrooms, especially during breaks or evening study sessions.
The school administration said that the deer has a gentle temperament and is well-liked by students, who frequently feed it and take photos with it.
Officials speculated that the animal may have been attracted to the paper because its plant fibres resemble parts of its usual diet and because it was familiar with the classroom environment.
Wildlife experts reminded schools that even tame animals should have designated activity areas to prevent disruptions or accidental harm. Sudden noise or movement could startle animals, creating risks for both students and the creatures.
The management said it plans to step up patrols and improve management to ensure harmony between students and the campus animals.
