China is accelerating its industrial AI ambitions with the launch of a national industrial data repository, as officials emphasize real-world applications and streamlined upgrade paths for enterprises. China Academy of Industrial Internet on Saturday unveiled a national Industrial Data Resource Base, aiming to support the country's fast-growing industrial AI sector by providing high-quality data and computing infrastructure. The data base compiles key technical data, ranging from raw materials and parts to production processes, into a standardized, unified data system. Its goal is to fuel industrial artificial intelligence models that require vast amounts of reliable training data. According to relevant officials, the data resource base is built on the National Industrial Internet Big Data Center and the National Equipment Manufacturing Digital Supply Chain Platform. It has already aggregated a vast amount of industrial data, including 230 million digital records of industrial products, 180,000 specifications of raw material grades, 35 terabytes of real-time equipment operation data, and 300,000 entries of manufacturing process data. This growing resource is already in active use, powering AI-driven tools for 2 million engineers of 430,000 companies. Use cases include smart designing, automated process planning, targeted analytics, and predictive equipment maintenance. China currently hosts more than 340 industrial internet platforms of influence. Nationwide, connected industrial devices have exceeded 100 million, while digital R and D tools have reached a 85.4 percent adoption rate among core enterprises. Nearly 68.5 percent of key industrial tools are now under digital control. These figures lay a strong foundation for the circulation and monetization of industrial data assets.
