Storyline China modernizes its industrial system during 14th Five-Year Plan period [Voice_over] As it prepares to adopt a new five year plan for development, China is taking stock of its achievements in the past five years in modernizing its industrial systems. Efforts including incentives and government subsidies have resulted in the development of more than 10,000 digital workshops and factories, more than 6,400 green factories, and 80 state run advanced manufacturing clusters. During this year alone, China has achieved impressive industrial transformation results with more than 80 percent of Chinese steel companies now using smart control centers; more 50 percent of coal mines using digital mining systems, and key processes at textile enterprises achieving a computerized numerical control, or CNC, rate of more than 60 percent. [Sound_bite] Wang Hong, official, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: "China has established a tiered development system for smart factories, and key technologies have reached world-leading levels. The industrial structure has been continuously optimized, with a sustained increase in the proportion of high-tech industries and strategic emerging industries, and the accelerated construction of a green production system, which has effectively promoted and supported high-quality economic development."
