VARIOUS OF POLICE BRING HANDCUFFED SUSPECTS INTO COURTHOUSE BUILDING KOCAELI, TÜRKİYE - JAN. 1: Turkish security forces detained 30 suspects in Türkiye’s northwestern Kocaeli province as part of an operation targeting the ISIS (Daesh) and Al-Qaeda terror groups, security sources said Thursday, Jan. 1.

The operation, carried out by provincial police counterterrorism teams, aimed to expose the activities of the terror groups and prevent their operations, the sources said.

The suspects were taken to the Kocaeli Courthouse after completing procedures at police headquarters, while investigations into the case are ongoing.

Searches conducted at the suspects’ residences led to the seizure of a handgun, banned publications and digital materials, according to the sources.
