Intense footage from Denver, Colorado, shows the towering flames and thick smoke of a major fire at an unoccupied three-story apartment complex under construction near Leetsdale and Forest streets. The video, captured by @DaLitiGator, depicts the blaze lighting up the night sky as emergency crews rush to the scene.
More than 100 firefighters responded to what city officials described as a five-alarm fire, one of the largest in recent memory for Denver. Crews battled the inferno for hours as the blaze spread across much of the unfinished structure.
Authorities say the building was unoccupied at the time, and no civilian injuries have been confirmed. Early reports indicated no injuries, though Denver7 later noted that at least one firefighter was treated for a minor injury. Nearby residents were briefly advised to evacuate because of intense heat and smoke, and Leetsdale Drive was closed in both directions as fire crews worked.
The Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management also reported significant power outages in the area related to the blaze. Fire officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire as crews work to fully extinguish remaining hotspots.
