Los Angeles, United States - January 06, 2026 01/05/2026 08:30 pm GMT-0800 RESEDA, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department initiated a pursuit Monday evening of a driver suspected of driving under the influence. The chase began in Reseda when the suspect, described as an older male adult with a beard and potentially armed, was seen driving on the wrong side of the road shortly before 9:20 p.m. The suspect narrowly avoided a police spike strip and entered the northbound 101 Freeway, driving with his lights off and reaching speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. Shortly after 9:40 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers briefly assumed control of the pursuit after the suspect exited the freeway, but the LAPD soon resumed control. The driver continued to operate erratically, endangering other motorists by traveling at high speeds and on the wrong side of the road. The suspect ultimately crashed at the intersection of Corbin Avenue and Saticoy Street.
