A care home resident was given a cheeky surprise - a police stripper.

Staff at the care home decided to book the strip tease artist for Sue Royale, 73.

Sue's daughters, Elaine and Vicky, made the request for their mum as a family's Christmas present and the care home was more than happy to oblige.

Arriving in his police uniform, dancer Max Hunter entered the home to raucous applause and cheers from the residents.

He soon set about his performance, much to the delight of Sue and her fellow companions.

Caroline Daley, home manager at Meadow Bank Care Home in Chorley, Lancashire said: "All our colleagues at Meadow Bank have seen the cheeky side of Sue. "

"So when Elaine and Vicky came to us with this rather unusual request, we knew that it would make an absolutely brilliant experience for everybody in the home."

"I think sometimes we can view life in a care home as rather regimented and stale but really this couldn't be further from the truth."

"Every day we strive to help all of those in our care to live their best lives and experiences like this prove that there is a lot more to life in care than meets the eye."

"To see the cheeky smile on Sue's face was just brilliant and we know that she and all the residents there will remember this day for a long time."

The dancer, Max Hunter, entertained resident with an exciting visit on January 3.

Sue's daughter, Vicky, said: "What an amazing experience for mum (and I'm sure other residents and staff!)"

"Plenty of memories made that day with lots of photos and videos to help keep that cheeky glint in mum's eye."

"Thank you to the team at Meadowbank for helping to make it possible."
