Los Angeles, United States - January 15, 2026 01/15/2026 03:14 am GMT-0800 PICO-UNION, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to a reported structure fire on the 2100 block of West 11th Street. Firefighters arrived to find the penthouse of a multi-story apartment building engulfed in flames. Crews quickly entered the unit and began to extinguish the fire. The penthouse sustained extensive damage. Dozens of residents were seen in the streets after evacuating the building. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and it remains unclear if anyone was injured. Firefighters located a deceased pet in the fire. Building and Safety officials have been requested to the scene. Crews were expected to remain on site for at least an hour.
