Indian Air Force marks Republic Day with impressive formation flight
The Indian Air Force marked Republic Day with a striking formation flight over New Delhi.
A total of 29 aircraft participated in the display on January 26, including 16 fighter jets, nine helicopters, and four transport planes from various bases.
The show began with a ceremonial flower shower, followed by a series of coordinated aerial formations that highlighted the 'skill and precision' of the IAF pilots.
Officers said this was the first Republic Day parade since Operation Sindoor, in which India demonstrated its military capabilities.
Launched on May 7, 2025, the operation saw the Indian Air Force and Army carry out strikes inside Pakistan to dismantle terror infrastructure following the Pahalgam attack in April.
Several formations during this year's parade were reportedly dedicated to celebrating the success of the operation.
Republic Day in India, celebrated annually on January 26, marks the date in 1950 when the country's Constitution came into effect, formally making India a republic.
