Strong winds from Storm Chandra lashed the Yorkshire coast on Tuesday morning, creating hazardous conditions along the seafront in Scarborough.

Visuals captured during an early morning run show fierce gusts whipping across the coastline, sending sea spray into the air and forcing pedestrians to struggle against the powerful onshore winds. Trees and coastal vegetation can be seen bending under the force of the storm as waves crash along the shore.

Locals described the conditions as some of the worst winds experienced in recent times, prompting safety concerns for those near exposed coastal areas.

Weather authorities have urged residents to exercise caution as Storm Chandra continues to impact parts of the UK with strong winds and unsettled conditions.
