Hog Deer in Thailand: Battling the Dry Season with Human Help
The dry season in Northern Thailand has trees shedding leaves and mountain streams drying up. Forest wildlife has a hard time finding food. Hog deer in Chiang Mai Province receive vegetables from the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation to supplement their food supply. In this video,a hog deer fawn can be seen at a feeding area stamping feet and flashing her tail to alert the herd to a potential danger- me.
The small herd is unperturbed by my presence and continues to eat the lettuce before dispersing into the forest.
