CCTV cameras have captured the dramatic final moments of the aircraft carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, which crashed during landing at Baramati airport on January 28, 2026, killing all five people on board.

The visuals show the chartered Learjet 45 approaching the runway from a low altitude. As the aircraft nears the landing strip, it appears to lose alignment, descending rapidly below the glide path. Within seconds, the jet touches down short of the runway, veers sharply off course, and slides into an open field adjacent to the airstrip.

The CCTV footage then shows a sudden explosion, with a massive fireball erupting on impact, followed by thick plumes of black smoke rising into the air. Debris can be seen scattered across the field as the aircraft is engulfed in flames.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, all five occupants — including Ajit Pawar, members of his security detail, and the flight crew — died in the crash. The Deputy Chief Minister was travelling from Mumbai to Baramati to attend election-related engagements.

Emergency responders rushed to the site immediately, but the intensity of the fire left no chance of survival. Senior state leaders and national figures have expressed shock and grief over the tragedy.
